Homemade Bagels

Bagels

Kindness matters! Oh yes it does! I am SO thankful for the random act of kindness from a dear friend this morning! The last few days I haven’t felt well. Nothing serious. Just a sore throat, clogged ears, and a stuffy nose. I absolutely hate having a sore throat. After this doozy of a sore throat I have had the last 5 days, I may not ever complain about “just a sore throat” again! EVER!

On top of a sore throat (so bad I am on antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory for pain), brace yourself here, my helper, April, is on a 3 week holiday. Yes, I know what some of you are thinking, but refrain from the sarcastic thoughts please. Remember, I am single and am living in a foreign country with no family around. AND school resumed on Monday after a 3 week Christmas break. I don’t want any pity at all! I am grateful for my friends who have checked in on me, for my daughter who is still on her Christmas break and has done some cleaning up and cooking, and for my two dogs doing their business on command so I could get back into bed.

What I am trying to say is that you never can truly know the impact of a random act of kindness. So, when you decide not to do that act of kindness for whatever reason, change your mind and DO IT! My girlfriend called me this morning to see if I was home, but I wasn’t because I was out walking my dogs. She said “I don’t want it to wait until tomorrow”. When I got home from walking my dogs I had a beautiful planted lily on my coffee table with a lovely book! Right away, I was overcome with joy, peace, and a grateful heart.

So, let’s all make this week memorable for someone too . Your homework is to do a random act of kindness. Go ahead make someones day special!

PS Before I published this post another girlfriend emailed me to offer her services to walk my dogs! 2 random acts of kindness in one day for me:)

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you–Ephesians 4:32

God Bless,

Karen

Homemade Bagels
These are easy to make but you need two days, so plan ahead! I followed the recipe exactly and they are delicious and worth the wait! I made 6 bagels but they are big. If you want a good sized bagel without really over indulging then make 8.

Makes 6-8
