Hello! I can’t believe January is coming to end soon! I didn’t make any resolutions but am trying to keep my life simple by praying, painting and committing to what brings me joy.

The one thing I did commit to was helping with The Alpha Course at my church. (The link will search globally for a course. You will need to scroll down the page just a bit to see where to plug in your location) Alpha started this week with over 122 guests and 49 people helping in different capacities. My memories of Alpha are rich with friendships, sharing about my faith journey and food 🙂 15 years have passed and the relationship I have with Jesus and the Holy Spirit are still at the forefront of my mind and heart when I deal with day to day decisions and when life gets sad or complicated. The close friendships that were cultivated during my Alpha years in Hong Kong are still strong today even though many have moved or relocated. I am in touch with my Thursday ladies daily. We have a chat group that is open 24/7. The one perk of having friends globally is someone is always awake:) Do you have that group of people who are your “board of directors” Who you trust? Who you admire? Who listen and give sound advice time and time again? If not, search for an Alpha course today.

My relationship with Jesus is like having a best friend, a travel companion, who I can fully trust with each step. He shows me where to go and how to get there. Our friendship has taught me to wait, to be still and to listen. Listening and waiting come from many places like my family, the radio, a billboard, a friend, a stranger and in the middle of the night. Sometimes His direction comes at me fast and furious and can be hard to discern and other times I wonder where He is and when I will hear from him. The constant is He is always there and it up to me to trust His plan and timing. Never wavering!

The Lord is not slow about keeping His promise as some people think. He is waiting for you. The Lord does not want any person to be punished forever. He wants all people to be sorry for their sins and turn from them. – 2 Peter 3:9

God Bless,
